Estate of John Balfour, late of Middle River, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and testament of me John Balfour of Middle River in the County of Pictou, and province of Nova Scotia, Farmer.

(1st.) I devise and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth McKenzie the sum of twenty five cents.

(2nd.) I devise and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Catherine McLeod the sum of Twenty five cents.

(3rd.) I devise and bequeath to my Daughter Jessie B. Graham the sum of twenty five cents, also to my Daughter Christina Balfour the sum of twenty five cents.

(4th.) I will and devise to Alexander Nicholas Balfour my son a Home on my farm which I now occupy also sufficient food and Clothing until he arrives at the full age of twenty one years, also a good common School Education.

(5th.) I devise and bequeath the Farm on which I now reside and all the rest and residue of my estate, real and personal which I shall be entitled to at the time of my death to my son John David Balfour, to have and to hold the same to him and to his Heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, to his and their use and behoof forever upon condition that he pay over to my heirs mentioned in this will the several amounts bequeathed to them in manner and form herein written and expressed

. (6th.) And I do nominate and appoint my Brother Duncan Balfour and John McDonald Esq. M.P. Executors of this my said last Will and Testament.

In testimony whereof I the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this Fourteenth day of July. In the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Eight two.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a quarter pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Balfour, late of Middle River in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
