Estate of Alexr. F. McDonald, late of Westville, Farmer deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I Alexander Fraser McDonald of Westville in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, farmer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this as my  last Will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore at any time by me made.

I hereby appoint my beloved wife Catherine McDonald Executrix, and my friend and minister Reverend Robert Cumming to be executor of  my  Will.

I hereby direct said executors to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses as soon as possible after my decease.

I hereby direct my executors to sell or to rent my farm at Union Centre Middle River, or any part of it, on any terms that me be satisfactory to them.

I hereby direct my executors to pay each of my children Hannah Alberta, David Roderick, and John Hardy, the sum of Four Hundred Dollars to each when they come of age - until that time arrives the interest of the money- and as much of the capital as may be necessary to go to their support.

I hereby bequeath to  my beloved wife all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate.

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander F. McDonald, late of Westville in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 5th day of December A.D. 1897.
