This is the  last will and testament of me, Alexander C. McDonald of Sunny Brae in the County of Pictou, trader, I hereby revoking all former wills at any time made by me.

1. I give and bequeath the sum of one thousand dollars to my daughter Lizzie McDonald in case and when she shall attain the age of twenty-one years or marry under that age.

2. I  give, devise and bequeath to my son Daniel M. McDonald the store and lot of land on which the same is situated at Sunny Brae aforesaid; also a lot of land bounded easterly by mill race, southwesterly by land of James McIntosh, westerly by an old water course and northerly by the old mill pond, containing three-fourths of an acre more or less; and also the rear of lands owned by Thomas Chisholm to lands owned by Leonard Anderson, containing twenty-five acres more or less.

3. I give and bequeath the sum of one thousand dollars to my son James A. McDonald upon condition that he remain on the homestead property and assists my wife Jessie Jane McDonald thereon until he attains the age of twenty-one years. And in the event of my said son James A. McDonald failing or refusing to carry out the foregoing proviso I give and bequeath the said sum of one thousand dollars to my said wife Jessie Jane McDonald, absolutely.

4. I  give, devise and bequeath to my said wife Jessie Jane McDonald all timber and trees down to eight inches in diameter on the stump now standing, growing, lying or being on all that property known as the Fraser lands recently conveyed to me situate at Cummings Mountain in the County of Pictou, containing four hundred and forty acres more or less, together with full liberty to said Jessie Jane McDonald her agents, servants and workmen at all times within ten years of my decease, and with it without horses, cattle or other animals, waggons, sleighs or other vehicles to enter upon, pass through, over and upon the said lands for the purpose of felling, removing and carrying away the said trees and timber.

5. I  give, devise and bequeath to my said son James A. McDonald, the said Fraser lands recently conveyed to me, situate at Cummings Mountain aforesaid containing four hundred and forty acres more or less, subject to the devise and bequeath to my said wife Jessie Jane McDonald, upon the condition however that she is to well and sufficiently support, maintain, clothe and educate and in all respects suitably care for and provide my sons Simon G. McDonald, John Charles McDonald and George Adam McDonald in my house at Sunny Brae aforesaid until they respectively attain the age of twenty-one years or marry; and upon the further condition that she the said Jessie Jane McDonald is also to well and sufficiently support, maintain, clothe and educate and in respects suitably care for and provide my daughter Annie V. McDonald in my house aforesaid until she marries, and also provide a suitable home therein for my said daughter Lizzie McDonald until she marries.

I hereby appoint my wife Jessie Jane McDonald executrix, and Duncan B. Cruickshank of Sunny Brae aforesaid executor of this my Will.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander C. McDonald  late of Sunny Brae in said County Trader deceased  which said will  was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 30th  day of November AD 1911.
