THIS is the last will and testament of me, Daniel McDearmid of the Town of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou, gentleman, I hereby revoking all the former wills at any time made by me.

I hereby appoint J. Edward McDonald of said New Glasgow, Merchant and Thomas Munroe, of said New Glasgow, Jeweller, hereinafter called "my trustees" to be the Executor and Trustees of this my Will

I give and bequeath to my wife, Christy Bell McDearmid, all that property commonly known as "The Vendome Hotel" together with all the land and buildings in connection therewith, and the land and buildings in the rear thereof, known as  the "Burbear property".

I also give and bequeath to my wife, all my right, title and interest in the sum of One thousand nine hundred and ninty-six dollars and accrued interest thereon, which is deposited in the Bank of Nova Scotia, New Glasgow.

I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the household furniture in the house where I now reside, and all household furniture whatsoever belonging to me at the time of my decease.

I give and bequeath to my son, Clarence McDearmid, the carriage house and three barns on Victoria Street, in said New Glasgow, and all the land in connection therewith, or in the vicinity thereof, and also my horse and wagon, and all personal property located in the said carriage house and barns aforesaid.

I  give and bequeath to my son, Clarence McDearmid, all my right, title and interest, of, in and to a certain farm property situated at Abercrombie, in the County of Pictou, and owned jointly between myself and Alex. McGregor, of said New Glasgow, Lumber dealer.

I  give and bequeath to my son, Clarence McDearmid, the farm property owned by me at Seal Island, or at or near Whitehead, in the County of Guysboro.

I  give and bequeath to my said wife and my said son, to be divided equally between them, the proceeds of a certain Life Insurance Policy for $2200 or thereabouts, in a Company of which Peter McFarland is the Local Agent in New Glasgow, and all insurance of every kind upon my life to be divided equally between my wife and son as aforesaid.

And I empower "My trustees" to sell any or all of my real estate as they in their discretion may see fit and convert the same into cash to be applied to the use of my wife and son as hereinbefore mentioned. I also empower "My trustees" to refrain from converting any or all of the real estate herein bequeathed to my said son Clarence McDearmid, into cash until five years had elapsed after my decease, at which time I direct "my trustees" to sell all real estate which has not already been sold and pay over the proceeds in accordance with the provisions of this will.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Daniel McDearmid  late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Gentleman deceased  which said will  was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the nineteenth day of November AD 1912.

Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 19th. day of November AD 1912.
