Estate of The Reverend Robert McCunn late of River John, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Robert McCunn of River John, County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia, and Dominion of Canada, being in feeble health of body but perfect in mind and memory, and calling to mind that it is appointed unto all men to die, do hereby thus make my last Will and Testament , in manner and form following, that is to say
First of all I commend my spirit to God who gave it, through the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, and my body to the dust, to be interred after the manner of a decent Christian burial, and touching such worldly effects wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner, that is to say.
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Catherine the lot of land adjoining the manse. on the north west side of the Shore road, consisting of about twenty acres, also all my household furniture, and effects.
Subject to the following reservations. to my son Robert twenty volumes of my Library, to my son James twenty volumes, to my son Malcolm twenty volumes, to my son John twenty volumes. Such volumes to be chosen by them, Subject to the approval of my executors, to my son William my writing desk and twenty volumes, to my son George Basil my gold watch and chain, to my son Arthur the musical Box, and my silver handed walking stick, to my daughter Elizabeth Jane the Parlor organ, to my daughter Isabella Margaret my gold and Silver medals.
I likewise bequeath to my said wife Catherine all the livestock and agricultural implements, which I may possess at the time of my death,
I give and bequeath to my son Alexander Oswald the lot of land on the shore, known as the McWilliam property, bounded on the East by the lands of Richard Robertson, & on the west by the lands of Richard Fullerton, containing about fifty acres.
I give and bequeath to Annie Jane Dunn, in recognition of long and faithful service, Fifty dollars, and twenty volumes of my Library.
As to my remaining personal property, if any, after my just debts are paid, I desire that it be divided this, two thirds to my wife Catherine, and one third, to my daughter Elizabeth Jane.
Lastly, I appoint Rev. James W. Fraser of Scotsburn, and John McKenzie Esq. Merchant of River John, both in the County of Pictou, joint executors of this my last Will and testament.
In witness whereof I hereunto Subscribed my name and set my Seal on this the twenty seventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Robert McCunn, late of River John, in the County of Pictou, Minister of the Gospel, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 26th day of April A.D. 1895.
