Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds at Pictou

I, John McCara of Plainfield in the County of Pictou, farmer, do make and  declare this to be my  last Will and Testament.

First. I give and devise   to my sons Andrew N. and James Foreman McCara all the real estate property where I reside, to be equally divided by themselves, when attaining the age of twenty-one years, and in case of failing to agree, to submit the same to arbitrators in the usual way.

Second.   I devise that all the deposit money that I may have in the Bank in Pictou after my death to be equally divided ato all of my children.

Third. I devise that all my personal property, including house furniture, will be left on the said premises, and be equally divided between the above names sons, the same as the real property will be divided

Fourth. I devise that all the live stock, horses, cattle and sheep, in the event of my decease, will be sold under the direction of John McCara, Jr. and Graham McCara, who will act as guardians for the minor children, if they consider that to be the best way to do, and from the moneys arising from such sale, to pay all just debts, and the probating of this will; also to work and take charge of all the real Estate property above mentioned, and use the increase of the same for the keep and education of the minor children until they are twenty one years of age, and that my unmarried daughters will have a home in the said premises until they have a home of their own.

Fifth.  I  appoint Daniel Campbell of West branch River John and John B. McKay of Plainfield to be the  Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

In Witness Whereof I  the said John McCara the Testator have hereunto set my hand this twenty third day of December A.D. 1912.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true and correct copy of the last Will and Testament of John McCara  late of Plainfield in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased  which said will  was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 2nd.  day of August AD 1913.

Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 6th. day of August AD 1913.
