Estate of Sarah Butler, late of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I Sarah Butler of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Widow, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament.
I make constitute and appoint Rev. Roderick McDonald, Parish Priest and Mrs. Archibald McKenna, Tobacconist - both of Pictou, to be the executors and trustees of this my Will.
I give devise and bequeath all my interest and estate in the town of Pictou at the corner of Wellington and Prince Albert Streets (whether such interest be by **fore scription or otherwise) to my nephew John McKenna, son of late Archibald McKenna.
I give devise and bequeath all other my estate real and personal of whatsoever nature and kind to my trustees hereinbefore named in trust to convert the same into money as soon as conveniently may be after my death and to stand and be possessed of the said monies in and upon the following uses and trusts viz.
In the first place, to pay all my debts, funeral and Probate expenses.
Second, To pay the convent of Stella Maris Pictou One hundred dollars.
Third, To pay Mr. Haley wife of John Haley Pictou, Seventy five dollars.
Fourth, To pay my niece Lena McKenna daughter of Daniel McKenna, One Hundred Dollars.
Fifth, To pay my brother Daniel McKenna Seventy five dollars, without any abate=ment because of any money he may be owing me at the time f my death.
Sixth, To pay Mrs. Catherine McKenna Widow of the late Archibald McKenna the sum of One Hundred and fifty dollars.
Seventh, To pay Maggie Brennan daughter of James Brennan Junior the sum of Seventy five dollars. Eighth, To pay or retain to the said Rev. Roderick McDonald, in trust for Charitable purposes One Hundred and fifty dollars. Ninth, The balance or residue then remaining to pay or retain to the said Rev. Roderick McDonald in trust to dispose of the same for the Church of Stella Maris or Convent of Stella Maris at his sole discretion.
I will and direct that my executors and Trustees, hereinbefore named, release and send discharge to Daniel McKenna, my brother, all debts or obligations owing by him to me or to the late Barnabas McKenna.
And lastly, I hereby revoke and annul all other Wills and testamentary dispositions by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof I, the said Sarah Butler have on this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety one to this my last Will and testament contained on this and the two preceding sheets set my hand.

Signed, Sealed, published, and declared by above named Sarah Butler as and for her last Will and testament, in the presence of us who at her request in her presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto the day and year above written- The same having been first read and explained to her.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Sarah Butler Late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
