Estate of William Ross late of Scotsburn, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I William Ross of Scotsburn in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, do make publish my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.
I will and direct 1st. that all my just and lawful debt (if any) be paid out of the proceeds of my estate.
2nd. I give and bequeath to my sister Bell Ross the sum of two hundred forty dollars ($240.00) of lawful money of Canada at such time as my executors shall direct.
3rd. I give and bequeath to my brother James the sum of One hundred Dollars ($100.00) of lawful money of Canada at such time as my executors shall direct.
4th. I give devise and bequeath to my brother Thomas all the remainder of my personal property at the time of my decease, whether consisting of livestock, farming utensils, promissory notes, book accounts, or whatever they may consist of, also the benefit of my real Estate during the term of his natural life, said Estate to be cultivated in such a manner as will not reduce its fertility.
5th. I give and bequeath to my nephew John Ross of Pictou, in the aforesaid County, all my real Estate bequeathed to my Brother Thomas (during the term of his natural life) to be processed by him, the said John Ross his heirs and assigns forever, said bequest to be utterly void until the death of my Brother Thomas.
6th. Finally I hereby nominate and appoint George Goring of Millville and David MacKay of Milbank, Pictou, Esquire, Executors of this my last Will and Testament giving them full power to transact all business connected with the execution of this my last Will and Testament, and I hereby revoke all Wills and Testament heretofore by me made and executed.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my Seal at Scotsburn this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty eight.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a quarter pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Ross late of Scotsburn, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 28th. day of August A.D. 1897.
