Estate of Nancy McKenzie late of Bay View, Widow, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and testament of Nancy McKenzie of Bay View, Carriboo, in the County of Pictou.

First. I give and devise to my son Hector McKenzie the Farm that I own in Carriboo River Situated and Bounded as follows – fronting the shore between the lands of Thomas Ross and Andrew Murray and on the rear by the lands of the heirs of the late Alexander McLeod, containing One Hundred Acres, more or less, To Have and To Hold the same to him and his heirs forever, subject to my support and maintenance during my natural life and in the event of my selling or disposing of my said farm, I give and bequeath to my said son Hector McKenzie and John Duncan McKenzie all the residue of my property of whatsoever nature or any balance of money that may be left after my death and Funeral expenses, subject to the following bequests.

Second. I devise and bequeath to my daughter My Carmichael the sum of twenty Dollars.

Third. And should I not dispossess or sell my said farm I bequeath and devise to my son Hector McKenzie the Power to dispose of or sell the same and after pay himself for any money or expense that he may have expended on my account during my life time, and after paying the foregoing mentioned bequest I devise and ordain between my said two sons Hector McKenzie and John Duncan McKenzie to have and to hold the same to them and their heirs forever.

And I nominate and appoint Hector McKenzie and John Duncan McKenzie my two sons executors of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set at Bay View Pictou N.S. this fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight Hundred and eighty-eight.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Nancy McKenzie late of Bay View in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 8th. day of May A.D. 1890.
