Estate of Mary McKenzie late of Stellarton, Widow, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and testament of Mary McKenzie of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Widow of Hector McKenzie, deceased.
First. I direct my Executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses out of my Estate.
Second. I devise and bequeath to my grandchildren James Willis and Alexander Samuel McKenzie Willis sons of James F. Willis all that lot of land Situate at West River in the County of Pictou, bequeathed to me by my father Hugh McDonald and containing one hundred acres more or lefs, To Have and To Hold the same to them my said Grandchildren, their heirs and assigns forever.
Third. I give and bequeath the sum of Five hundred Dollars to my Executors hereinafter named for the following purpose. To invest the same on deposit receipts in a good bank or banks at their discretion and to pay the same with the accumulated interest to my said Grandchildren, Share and share alike, when they both arrived at the age of twenty one years, then to the survivor of them and the heirs of such deceased grandchild, upon the delivery by them if both living, or if only one be living upon the delivery by such survivor and the heirs of such deceased Grandchild, to my Executors of a release of all their interest in my Estate and the in estate of my late husband Hector McKenzie and of my deceased son Alexander Samuel McKenzie,
And if neither of my said grandchildren lives to be twenty one years, then at the death of the survivor of them, I direct that my said Executors to pay the said sum with the accumulated interest to the lawful heirs of my said grandchildren, upon the heirs of such of my Children delivering to my said Executors a release of all their interest in my Estate and the Estate of my late husband and of my said son, and if the legacy is not accepted by any of the said parties upon the foregoing terms and conditions it is my desire and intention, that the same shall form part of the residue of my estate hereinafter disposed of.
Fourth. I devise and bequeath to my said Grandson Alexander Samuel McKenzie Willis my silver knives and forks to be delivered to him when he shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years.
Fifth. I devise and bequeath to my brother in law Alexander Brown my Hatrack.
Sixth. I devise and bequeath to my sister Margaret McDonald one hundred Dollars.
Seventh. I devise and bequeath to my stepdaughter Annie McKenzie her fathers Gold watch.
Eighth. All the ret and residue of my real Estate whatever my interest in any real estate may be, I devise and bequeath to my stepdaughters Annie McKenzie and Mary Willis. To Have and To Hold to them during their natural lives and the natural life of the survivor of them, and from and after the death of the survivor of them, I devise and bequeath the same to Mary Willis her heir and assigns, daughter of Robert and Mary Willis forever.
Ninth. All the rest and residue of my personal property I devise and bequeath to my stepdaughters Annie McKenzie and Mary Willis, their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns forever.
Tenth. I nominate, constitute and appoint Hugh McKenzie of Truro in the County of Colchester Solicitor, John McQuarrie of Stellarton, and my Stepdaughter Annie McKenzie to be executors of this Will, and revoking all former wills, by me at any time heretofore made. I declare this to be my true and only last Will & Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set this twenty seventh day of May in the year of our Lord eight hundred and ninety on this leaf and two other leaves.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Mary McKenzie late of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 30th. day of August A.D. 1890.
