Estate of Alexander McBean, late of Cape John, Farmer deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of Alexander McBean of Cape John in the County of Pictou, Farmer.
First - I direct that all the personal property belonging to me at my decease, be sold by my Executors either at private or public Auction, not sooner than one year after my decease.
Second - I direct that my real estate consisting of the farm at Cape John aforesaid upon which I now reside, be sold by my executors either at private sale or public auction, at the death of Hannah Murphy, Widow, or at such sooner time as they my said executors shall and may be able to do so to the best advantage of my estate and the rights and interests of her the said Hannah Murphy.
Third- I give devise and bequeath unto George Thomas Heighton the sum of Two Hundred and fifty dollars to be paid out of the proceeds of my Real Estate property, on condition that he shall and will remain and work on the same for twelve months after my decease.
Fourth- I give devise and bequeath yunto my wife Jane McBean and my brother Angus McBean jointly the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to be paid out of the proceeds of my personal property aforesaid, twelve months after my decease.
Fifth- I direct that the proceeds of my real estate property aforesaid, when sold, shall be invested by my said executors, or deposited by them in some Banking Institution for the best advantage and interest for my wife Jane McBean, and my infant daughters Ida May McBean and Jessie L. McBean.
Sixth- I give devise and bequeath unto them my said wife and infant daughters jointly for their support and maintenance the sum of Forty dollars yearly to be paid out of the money so invested or deposited as aforesaid yearly and every year until such time as my youngest daughter shall arrive at the full age of twenty one years, and then the remainder of such money so invested or deposited as aforesaid shall be divided as follows viz. one half thereof shall be given unto my said wife and the remainder one half shall be equally divided between my two daughters Ida May and Jessie L. and in case of sickness or for the purpose of educating my said daughters they shall receive such larger sum as my executors shall deem right and proper occasionally. But if my said wife shall marry before the time of such division aforesaid, she shall receive the sum of Two hundred dollars, instead of the foregoing bequest. And the remainder shall be divided equally between my two daughters aforesaid.
And lastly - I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint George L. Sillers of Cape John in the County of Pictou, Farmer, and Angus McBean of Earltown in the County of Colchester, Farmer, joint Executors of this my Last Will and testament, hereby revoking, disallowing and disannulling all former testamentary writing by me made.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander McBean, late of Cape John, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 18th day of December A.D. 1886.
