Estate of Thomas McAskill, late of New Glasgow, Yeoman, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I Thomas McAskill of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament.

I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal as follows, that s to say-

I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Catherine McAskill all my real estate situated at said New Glasgow, bounded and described as follows, a lot of land bounded westerly by Provost Street, Northerly by lands formerly owned by one Andrew McIntosh. Easterly by a Lane ten feet wide, Southerly by George Street,

Also a lot of land at said New Glasgow bounded and described as follows- Bounded Westerly by said lane ten feet in width, Southerly by lands of Duncan A. Fraser, Easterly by lands of me the testator herein, Southerly by lands formerly owned by said Andrew McIntosh,

Also a lot of land at said New Glasgow bounded and described as follows, bounded southerly by said George Street, Westerly by lands formerly owned by said Andrew McIntosh and lands of me the testator herein, Northerly by lands of one Duncan A. Fraser, and heirs of Robert Marshall and lands formerly the property of the County of Pictou, Easterly by Alexander Street.

Also a lot o f land at said New Glasgow bounded and described as follows. Easterly by lands of William Polson, Westerly by lands of William Smith, Northerly by McIntosh Street- together with all and Singular the houses, buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining and reversions remainders rents, issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest, property claim and demand of me the said testator to the said Several described lots of land and premises, and any other real estate of which I may die seized or possessed of, To Have and To Hold the same unto her my said beloved wife Catherine McAskill, her heirs and assigns for ever.

I also give devise and bequeath unto my said beloved wife Catherine McAskill all my personal property including Household furniture, moneys, due or coming due, monies, judgements, notes, accounts, claims and demands, of any kind or nature whatsoever To Have and To Hold the same to her my said wife Catherine McAskill her heirs and assigns for ever.

I appoint my said beloved wife Catherine McAskill Executrix and my friend Daniel Shaw formerly of Elgin now of Hopewell in the County of Pictou,  Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have Signed, and Sealed and published and declared this instrument as my Will at New Glasgow on the twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty nine.

The said Thomas McAskill at said New Glasgow on said twenty first day of February A.D. 1889. Signed  and Sealed this instrument and  published and Declared the same as and for his last Will and Testament and we at his request, and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Thomas McAskill late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 13th day of June A.D. 1891.
