Estate of John McArthur, late of New Glasgow, Shipwright, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I John McArthur of the town of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Shipwright, being of Sound and disposing mind and memory  do make and  publish this my last Will and Testament.

First, I give to my daughter Mary McDonald the use Improvement and income of my dwelling house, land and appurtenances situated, lying, and being at said town of New Glasgow, to wit, bounded Easterly by the Intercolonial Railway, Southerly by lands of Richard Smith, Westerly by the Fishger's Grant Road, and northerly by lands of one Joseph McKinnon, to have and to hold the same to her my said daughter Mary McDonald for and during the term of her natural life.

Second. I give to my daughter Isabella McArthur on the death of my said daughter Mary McDonald provided she survives my said daughter Mary McDonald the use improvement and income of my said dwelling house, land and appurtenances, abovementioned and Described for and during the time of her natural life from the decease of my said daughter Mary McDonald.

Third, At the decease of my said daughter Isabella McArthur, or in the event of my said daughter Mary McDonald surviving said Isabella McArthur then in such case on the decease  of my said daughter Mary McDonald it is my will that my said dwelling house, land and appurtenances above mentioned and described shall be sold by my executor hereinafter named, to do which full power and authority is hereby given and the proceeds from such sale I give devise and bequeath to the children if any of my said son Daniel McArthur now of or near Ratportage, Share and Share alike, To Have and To Hold the same to them, their Heirs and assigns forever.

I appoint my son James McArthur of said town of New Glasgow Merchant,  Executor of this my  last Will.\ and testament with full power and authority to carry out the provisions of the same.

In testimony whereof I  the said John McArthur have to this my Will and testament Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Ninety four.

Signed,  Sealed,  published and declared by the said John McArthur as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, at his request, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto, at said New Glasgow this fourteenth day of December A.D. 1894.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John McArthur late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Shipwright, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 16th day of March A.D. 1895.
