Estate of Donald McArthur, late of Fisher's Grant, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
I Donald McArthur of Fisher's Grant in the County of Pictou, being advanced in years, and weak in body, but of perfect mind & memory, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.
1st. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my son Campbell McArthur all my undivided share that I know I have or hereafter may have in the lands at Boat harbour, formerly owned by my father the late Archibald McArthur to him and his heirs and assigns for ever. ("my share of my Sister Catherine's lot")
2. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughter Jessie wife of Joseph Foster that certain lot of land at Fisher's Grant "commonly called the Point" bounded on the East by the waters of the Cove, on the West by the lands of Mrs. McKenzie, on the north by the waters of Pictou harbour, and running Southeasterly to the rear line of the lands of Mrs. McKenzie "Sixteen Rods", to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
3rd. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughter Henrietta wife of Willaim Jas. Foster that certain lot of land at Fisher's Grant bounded on the East by the lands of Mrs. McKenzie, on the west by the lands of the Marine Slip Coy., on the north by the waters of Pictou harbour, and running Southeasterly to the rear line of Mrs. McKenzie's lot "Sixteen Rods", to her and her heirs and assigns for ever, Excepting within the bounds of said described lot, a small lot owned by the heirs of Chisholm.
4th. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughter Effie wife of Edwin Sproull that certain lot of land at Fisher's Grant bounded on the west (a line is scratched out) by the lands of the late William Powell, on the East by a line ten Rods from and paralell with the line of the lands of the late William Powell, on the north by the waters of Pictou harbour Southeasterly "Sixteen Rods" to her and her heirs and assigns for ever.
5th. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughter Catherine wife of Archibald McCallum that certain lot of land at Fisher's Grant, bounded on West by the eat line of the lot hereby bequeathed to my daughter Effie, on the east by the lands of the Marine Slip Coy. on the north by the waters of Pictou harbour, and the lands of the Marine Slip Coy. and running Southeasterly from the waters of Pictou harbour, Sixteen Rods, to her and her heirs and assigns for ever.
6th. And I also hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughters, Effie, Henrietta, & Catherine "one fourth share each" of that certain lot of land Bounded by the rear line of the Several lots of land herein devised and the rear line of Mrs. McKenzie's lot, running from the share at the cove southwesterly along said rear line to the line of the lands of the late William Powell, thence Southeasterly along said line Eighteen rods, thence north easterly paralell with the rear line of the lots herein devised to the shore of the cove, thence Northwesterly along shore to the place of beginning, Jessie to have the one fourth part or lot adjoining the Cove, Effie to have the lot adjoining the lands of the the late William Powell's lands, Henrietta to the have the lot adjoining Jessie's lot, and Catherine to have the lot adjoining Effie's lot, to them and their heirs and assigns for ever.
7th. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my beloved wife Isabella McArthur the use and benefit of all the remaining part of my Real Estate at Fisher's Grant, and all my personal property - for her use and benefit as long as she lives. But my daughter Catherine to have the one half of the dwelling house to live in until my daughter Christy Bell is married, And at the death of my wife Isabella McArthur.
8th. I hereby give bequeath and devise to my daughter Christy Bell all that part of my Real Estate and personal property held by my wife Isabella to her my said daughter Christy bell to her and her heirs and assigns for ever.
9th. And I hereby appoint my beloved wife Isabella McArthur and Joseph Foster my Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set at Fisher's Grant this 30th. day of October A.D. 1882.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of three pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Donald McArthur late of Fisher's Grant in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 19th day of November A.D. 1889.
