Form for Deeds Dated 15 May 1906 Deed John Bayliss ex mx To James Little THIS INDENTURE made the Fifteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty one. Between John Bayliss of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Car[enter, and Lillia his wife of the one Part, and James Little of the same place 'master' shipwright of the other part, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars of lawful money of Nova Scotia to them in hand paid by the said the James Little at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said John Bayliss and Lillia his wife Have and Each of them Hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, enfeoffed, and confirmed and by these presents Do and Each of them grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, enfeoff, and confirm, unto the said James Little his HEIRS and ASSIGNS, All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Town of Pictou in the County of Pictou bounded and described as follows that is to say beginning on the south side line of High Street at the angle forward by the junction thereof with the west line of Wellington Street thence running westwardly along said Hight street sixty five feet thence southwardly along the east line of lands of said John Bayliss fifty six feet thence Eastwardly along the worth line of lands of said John Bayliss sixty five feet to Wellington Street aforesaid and then northwardly along the west line of said Wellington Street fifty six feet or to the place of beginning. Together with all and singular the houses, buildings, ways, water courses, easements, privileges and appurtenances to the said lot or parcel of land belonging or appertaining with the reversion and revisions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profit thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand, whatever, at law and in equity of them the said John Bayliss and Lillia his wife of it to or out of the same or any part thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said lot, piece or parcel of land above described with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said James Little his Heirs and Assigns forever, And the said John Bayliss for himself his Heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby covenant, promise and agree to and with the said James Little his heirs and assigns in manner and form following: that is to say that the said John Bayliss and Lillia his wife or one of them hath good, right, full power, and lawful authority to grant, sell, alien, and convey the said lot piece or parcel of Land, above described with the appurtenances in manner and form hereinbefore granted and conveyed. That the said James Little his heirs and assigns, shall and may at all times hereafter, peaceably and quietly have, hold, occupy, possess, and enjoy the said described lot or parcel of Land with the appurtenances and every part thereof without any manner of trouble, eviction, hindrance or molestation of or from the said John Bayliss or Lillia his wife or or any other person or persons lawfully claiming the same, or any part hereof. And, also, that the said John Bayliss and his heirs, the said lot and parcel of land and premises, *hereby granted and conveyed and intended so to be unto the said James Little his. heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and persons whomever will warrant, maintain and forever defend. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties to these presents have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year first above written. On this fifteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and eighty one before me the subscriber personally appeared Lillia Bayliss wife of the within named John Bayliss who, being by me examined apart from her said husband acknowledged and declared that she signed, sealed and executed the foregoing Deed of Indenture, as her free act and deed without any compulsion from her said husband, which I hereby certify.
