Will of Dougal Logan, Deceased
Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds
This is the last will and testament of me Dougal Logan of Logans Tannery in the County of Pictou, Merchant
I give devise and bequeath to my wife Isabella McKay Logan all my new dwelling house at Logans Tannery aforesaid together with all my household and kitchen furniture and utensils plates glass linen china glass fixtures and other household effects.
I also devise to her the dwelling houses at present- respectively occupied by John Pelley and Elof*** Leithead and also one acre of land surrounding or adjoining the dwelling hereto before mentioned to be selected and laid off by her children six months after my decease, and in default of such restriction by her to be laid off by my executors hereinafter named
I do also give and bequeath to my said wife the sum of one thousand dollars
I do further give devise and bequeath to my son Albert Logan all the shop and warehouse at Logans Tannery and all the lands not heretobefore devised on the southside of the Road at Logans Tannery comprising six acres or thereabouts and contig** to or adjoining the said shop and warehouse.
I do also give and bequeath to the said Albert Logan the business herebefore conducted by me at Logans Tannery aforesaid together with my stock in trade shop and office furniture and all debts notes of hand or other securities due or owing to me in connection with mysaid business and I direct that as a condition of said devise and bequest my said son Albert Logan shall pay all my just debts and liabilities and also shall pay to his mother the sum of two hundred dollars yearly and every year so long as she shall live.
I also give devise and bequeath to my son Wilford Logan all my town property on the West River Road known as the McKenzie Farm, the stock and crop thereon and also my land at West Branch of River John containing one hundred and fifty acres or thereabouts
I also give and bequeath to my brother Alexander Logan the sum of four hundred dollars ($400.) over and above any sums which he may owe me and I hereby release him from any such debts as he may owe me.
All the residue and remainder of my property and estate of whatsoever nature and kind and wheresoever situate I gove devise and bequeath to my said wife
I make constitute and appoint my said wife Isabella McKay Logan my son Albert Logan and John H. Ross of Pictou Barrister executrix and executors of this my Will
In Witness Whereof I have my hand subscribed to this my Will on this and the other side written this thirtieth day of May AD 1912

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Dougal Logan late of Logans Tannery in said County Merchant deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 27th day of January AD 1913
