Estate of David Milton Linton, late of Westville, Doctor of Medicine, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I David Miller Linton, of Westville in the County of Pictou, Doctor of Medicine, do hereby make and publish my last Will and Testament as follows,
1. I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret C.L. Linton the gold watch & chain which belonged to her mother, and all the wedding presents received on the occasion of my marriage with her mother, including the Silver set presented by the employees of the Intercolonial Coal Mining Company, also my bloodstone Seal ring.
2. I give and bequeath to my mother Catherine Linton five hundred dollars to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter names the same to be a charge upon my general estate, also the sewing machine now in my house, and such books and articles of clothing as she may select as hereinafter mentioned.
3. I give and bequeath to John Stewart of Pictou in said County, Surgeon, one of my executors hereinafter named, Ashurts Surgery **oos publication in six volumes.
4. My walking cane with walrus tooth head, given me by the late John Cameron, I give and bequeath to Dr. Lewis Johnstone of Stellarton of said County.
5. My walking cane with broad silver ferule, given me by Capt. Leng of the Inverary (sfs) I give and bequeath to D. Srarford Page of Truro of Colchester.
6. My leather dressing case to my brother Fredk. Linton of Saint John N.B. Clerk
7. My gold horse shoe pin I give and bequeath to Thos. Linton of St. John NFD
8. My gold (words horse shoe scratched out) set of Shirt studs & sleeve buttons I give and bequeath to Crawford P. Linton of Glencoe. McLeod Co., Minnesota
9. All the rest and residue of my personal Estate including the life policy for two thousand dollars, and all moneys paid thereunder, and all my real Estate I give and bequeath to Robert Simpson of Westville aforesaid, Esquire, John Stewart of Pictou in said County, Surgeon, and Thomas Linton of St. Johns in the Province of New Brunswick, Book Keeper, to have and to hold the same in trust for the use and benefit of my said daughter Margaret C.L. Linton with power to sell, mortgage, and convey the same at public or private sale.
10. I direct my said executors to turn the said estate into money, at the best prices they can obtain, using their own discretion as to time and mode of sale and after paying the said sum of five hundred dollars to my mother and defraying all necessary expenses authorized by law or required by any other provision of this will, to invest the balance of the money so obtained and all other money that may come into their hands as such executors in good securities, and to lay out the interest arising therefrom for the maintenance & education of my said daughter through the guardians hereinafter appointed or the survivor of them.
11. I give and bequeath to my mother Catherine Linton the whole of my estate or whatever may remain of it at the time, in event of the death of my daughter the said Margaret S.C. Linton during her minority.
12. I give and bequeath to my daughter the said Margaret C.L. Linton the following, I my heavy gold watch chain, II one gold locket with chain and photograph, III one gold & silver smelling bottle, IV Her mother's rings re., V Her mother's wedding ring, VI one solitaire diamond ring.
13. I hereby appoint my mother Catherine Linton, and my brother William F. Linton of Truro in the County of Colchester Merchant to be the Guardians of my said daughter Margaret C. L. Linton.
15. I direct my said executors to purchase a lot in Greenwood Cemetery in which to inter my body, and to remove to the lot so to be purchased the remains of my late beloved wife, and to erect a suitable monument thereon.
16. I direct and require my said executors as soon as may be after my decease to allow my mother to choose & select any books and articles of clothing belonging to me which she may desire to have and to dispose of the same as she may see fit.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of three pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of David Miller Linton late of Westbille, in the County of Pictou, Doctor of Medicine, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 5th day of September A.D. 1891.
