Estate of Robert Lendsburg, late of West River, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen -

I, Robert Lendsburg of the West River in the County of Pictou, Farmer, being at present in a poor state of bodilie health but of sound mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, Knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament
Revoking all former Wills.

First of all I give and recommend my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial, at the discretion of my Executrix and Executor, hereinafter to be named.

An as regards such Worldly estate as it hath pleased God to give me. I give and dispose of the same in the following manner viz. -

First - I order that all my just debts and Funeral expenses be fully paid.

Secondly - I order that my beloved wife Jennet Lendsburg shall have a comfortable living of my Farm and her choice half of the present dwelling House during her natural life time.

Thirdly -  I bequeath my Farm on which I now reside unto my two sons William and David Lendsburg to be equally divided between them.

Fourthly - I order that the following sums of money to be raised from the stock that may be on the farm and to be paid as follows to  my children hereinafter named namely, I order the sum of Eighty dollars to be paid to my son Jasper Lendsburg when he will be twenty one years of age- and the sum of Eighty dollars to be paid to my son Georg Lendsburg within three years after my death, and to my Daughters Elizabeth Alexie and Jennet Lendsburg the sum of Twenty Dollars to each of them when they will come to the age of Maturity, and the sum of one shilling or twenty cents to be paid to each of my daughters Elenor & Margaret Lendsburg, and the sum of one shilling or twenty cents to each of my sons James and John Lendsburg. I order that my son Robert Lendsburg will get a good common english education such as will enable him to be able to transact common business.

Lastly - I appoint as my  true and lawful Executrix and Executor of this my  last Will and Testament my said wife Jennet Lendsburg and James Anderson of the said West River. Ratifying and conforming this and no other.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed  & set my hand and Seal this third day of September, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Seventy one.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Robert Lendsburg late of the West River in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 6th day of October A.D. 1880.
