Wedding In Truro - Mr. John A. Matheson, merchant of this city, was united in marriage, at Truro, yesterday afternoon, to Miss Annie A. McKenzie, of Mount Dalhousie, Pictou Co. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Geo. Murray, of New Glasgow, assisted by the Rev. Mr. McMillan, of Truro, at the residence of the latter gentleman. Mr. Matheson, the groom, is well and popularly known in Halifax, where he had resided and engaged in business for the past five years. His record for that time has been as honorable as it has been successful, and successful it has been to a far greatr extent than often falls to the lot of businesssmen in so short a time. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Alexander McKenzie, of Mount Dalhousie, Pictou County, and is universally esteemed among her acquaintances for her amiable and loving disposition.
Miss Ruth Ross, dauther of Hugh Ross, of Pictou, and sister of Ross Bros., Photographers, Truro and New Glasgow, was bridemaid, and Mr. B.M. Davidson, of Davidson Bros., of Halifax, groomsman. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to the Victoria Hotel, where a magnificent repast was spread and partaken of by about forty guests. Mr. and Mrs. Matheson left immediately by the evening express train for an extended tour in western Canada, bearing with them the sincere well wishes of a more than usually large circle of friends. Long and happy may they live.
