Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I Charles Alexander Beard resident of Hopewell County of Pictou, being this day sound in mind and memory and desirous of managing all my worldly affairs for the interests of my family, do make and ordain and declare this my last Will and testament, in manner and form following.
Having entire confidence in the Judgement prudence and affection of my beloved wife I therefore instead of making bequeaths to my several and beloved children and dividing my property among them in this my last Will, do now make over ordain and bequeath to my wife above mentioned my whole property in whatever form, of which I may die possessed, to be held by her for her sole use and benefit during her life and in trust for my children to be shared between them. At her death as may seem to her right and best, and I further ordain as part of the trust and responsibility committed to my wife that in no circumstances which may arise, nor under any provocation possible to occur, shall any part or share of my property bequeathed to her as above named, be diverted to the interests of any individual or individuals or to any party whatever but excepting what she may be disposed to give to the cause of Christ shall be carefully preserved as above stated to the benefit of George William, Cynthia, and Annette Jane, my beloved children in share respectively as above directed.
In order to carry into effect the terms of this my last Will and Testament, I appoint and ordain as my Executor the Reverend A. Maclean, pastor of Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.
