Estate of Jessie Buck, late of New Glasgow, Widow, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I Jessie Buck of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, formerly of Princeton in the state of Maine in the United States of America, Widow, do make this my last Will and testament.

1st. I give devise and bequeath unto my son William Fraser Buck his father's gold watch, diamond Chips, finger ring, writing desk chair, easy chair and picture, to be put into his possession as soon as he is considered confident to appreciate and take care of the same.

2nd. I give and bequeath unto my sister Margaret McKay my small leather bottomed chair, and my set of dinner dishes.

3rd. My piano I give to my son Willie Fraser Buck which said piano I direct and order to be kept tuned and in good order for my son's daily use so that he may have a reasonable piano training, all expenses for such purpose to be paid out of my Estate.

4th. All the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal wheresoever situated I give devise and bequeath unto the Reverend Anderson Rogers of New Glasgow Presbyterian Minister. As Trustee, with power and authority to settle and covey all my real estate in this Province and in the State of Maine U.S.A. for the best price obtainable therefore, and within a reasonable time after my death to collect in all debts an sums of money due to me and to convert my personal property into money, and to invest the said money in the Dominion Savings' Banks or any Substantial Chartered Banks of Canada, and to hold the whole of my said Estate when so converted into money, and invested for the use and benefit of my said son William Fraser Buck in providing him with suitable maintenance support and a liberal Education and Musical training, such requirements and effects to be in the discretion of the said Trustee, on my said son attaining the age of twenty one years, the said Trustee shall hand over to him all the estate and funds their remaining.

5th. I devise and order that m y said son William Fraser Buck shall be placed in the care and charge of my sister Margaret McKay who I devise to treat and care for my said son as well as she treats and cares for her own children, and I order and direct that my said sister be paid monthly by said Trustee fair reasonable compensation for the care and keep of my son.

6th. In the event of the death of my said son before attaining his majority, I give and bequeath out of the Estate remaining at such death One hundred dollars to the Home Mission Fund Eastern Division Presbyterian Church of Canada, and any balance after having paid said bequeath shall be divided equally between my brothers and sisters, Catherine Tupper, Annie Brown, Mary McDonald, Margaret McKay, John McDonald, and James McDonald, or if only one brother or sister survives, the entire amount remaining shall be handed over to him or her. Should no brothers or sisters survive the entire amount remaining shall be equally divided between the children of all he brothers and sisters.

I nominate and appoint as Executor of my will, the Rev. Anderson Rogers of New Glasgow, who is also Trustee before mentioned. Dated at New Glasgow this 17th. day of June A.D. 1898.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Jessie Buck late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
