Will of John F. Blackie Deceased
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
Know all whereby those present that I John F. Blackie of Meaddowville in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this to be my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife (nee Mary McKay) all my farm whereupon I now live together with the adjoining houses and farmland and all the horses and cattle that would belong or may belong to me to have and to hold the said premises with the appurtenances during her natural life. At her decease in which estate aforesaid shall become the property of my son James Daniel Blackie on the following conditions: That he afford to my daughter Lottie Jane Blackie the privilege of living at home as she may desire while she remains unmarried. That she receive a cow from the estate on the occasion of her marriage. If the said James Daniel Blackie should he remain at home and cultivate the farm during his natural lifetime he will clearly forfeit his claim to the aforesaid property.
I do ordain and appoint my brother James Blackie as executor of this my said last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereto my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament within the presence of the witnesses signed below on this thirtieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John F. Blackie as his last Will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

I John D. McLeod of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper written is true copy of the last Will and Testament of John F. Blackie of Meadowville, in County of Pictou , Farmer, deceased, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in said Court on the 4th day of March AD 1905.
