Will of John Blackie Deceased
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I John Blackie of Green Hill in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, farmer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. My will is as follows
I devise and bequeath to my son John L. Blackie all my farm on Green Hill in the County of Pictou being lands conveyed to me at three different times by three different deeds, the first from Richard Blackie by a deed dating February 19th, 1844, the second from William Blackie by a deed dated May 10th 1844, and the third from Richard B. Blackie by a deed dated October 23rd, 1850 all of which are on record in the Registrar's Office in Pictou, NS and in accordance within the descriptions and amount of land therein recorded also conveyed and altogether containing sixty five (65) acres more or less and also my dwelling house barns and outhouses and ****moreover with all farming implements wagons horses stock of all kinds and all other m** in the property whatsoever of which I am now or at the time of my decease shall be possessed to be his heirs or assigns from everything so much as shall be hereupon devised or bequeathed to others and s** at also to legal owner of one third life interest in all my property real and personal to my beloved wife Elizabeth M. Blackie
I bequeath to my daughter Lillian one milk Cow to be delivered to her by my son John F. immediately after my decease.
I bequeath to my grandson Harry Archibald one yearling heifer to be delivered to him when ***for after my decease by my said son John L. Blackie.
I also bequeath to my wife Elizabeth M. Blackie all money which I have now or may have at my decease deposited in the Merchants Bank of Halifax Pictou or way with interest assured hereon in the meantime to be hers absolutely over and above the dower already mentioned in this will.
I bequeath to my son James McGill Blackie the sum of one dollars to be paid to him in lawful money of this province by my son John L. on my decease made at any time after my decease.
I hereby nominate and appoint Robert Maxwell of Wentworth also David Blackie of Durham to be the executors of this my said last Will and Testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this first day of July 1899.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper written is true copy of the last Will and Testament of John Blackie late of Green Hill in said County , Farmer, deceased, which said will has been duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou in said County on the 13th day of March AD 1908.
