Vincent Massey was a momumental figure of Canadian history, with the 1949-1951 Massey Commission bearing his name. The commission focused on Canadian culture and how to encourage it to thrive and protect it at the same time. It led to the creation of the CRTC, the Canadian Council for the Arts, and the National Library of Canada.
