Estate of Ellen Brown late of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of me Ellen Brown of the town and County of Pictou, Widow.
I give devise and bequeath to Annie Halleran of the City and County of Halifax, wife of Dennis Halleron of the said place all that lot of land situate on the south side of (Denoon Street) in the town and County of Pictou. To Have and To Hold the same unto the said Annie Halleron her heirs and assigns forever, and this bequeath is made upon the conditions and understanding that the said Annie Halleron shall present or have no claims or account against my Estate or against my, Executor hereinafter names for services or otherwise.
The lot of land containing eight acres more or less situate in near of the town of Pictou aforesaid which last year I gave a deed to Ellen/Nellie Boucher I request and devise that she give same to my executor and Trustee hereinsfter named for the use and benefit of the Roman Catholic Parish of Stella Maris at Pictou aforesaid.
I order and direct my executor and Trustee hereinafter named to expend a sum of money in erecting a monument to the memory of my late husband and myself, said monument to be similar in design and construction to that erected in memory of James McNamara at Pictou aforesaid.
I give devise and bequeath to my executor and Trustee hereinafter named Twenty dollars for spiritual purposes. All the rest and residue of my estate real, personal, mixed and of every kind and nature whatsoever and wheresoever situate,
I give devise and bequeath unto the Reverend John J. Chisholm of the town and County of Pictou, Parish Priest, his heirs and assigns forever upon trust to convert same into money, and the proceeds to apply for the use and benefit of the Roman Catholic Parish of Stella Maris at Pictou aforesaid in such manner way or ways as to my said executor and Trustee may deem prudent and expedient.
In witness whereof I the said Ellen Brown have hereto my hand subscribed and seal affixed this eighth day of March A.D. 1895.

Signed Sealed and acknowledged by the said Testator Ellen Brown as and for her last Will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her sight and presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, and this said last Will and testament was read over to the said Ellen Brown in our presence and explained to her, and she seemed perfectly to understand the same and made her mark thereto in our presence, the word "Parish" on 2nd. page being underlined before executor.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Ellen Brown Late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Widow, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
