Estate of John Herritt, late of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of me John Herrit Senior of Pictou, Farmer.
I give devise and bequeath all my farm land containing about forty six acres whereon I reside and all my lands, and Real Estate whatsoever, and all my personal property Estate and effects unto my son John Herrit his heirs and assigns.
I give and bequeath to my son William Herrit the sum or legacy of One Hundred Dollars to be paid to him by my son John
and I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane now wife of Malcolm Morrison as her own Sole property the sum or legacy of one hundred Dollars to be paid to her by my son John,
and I give to my son Francis now in Arizona a legacy of twenty Dollars, payable to him by my son John,
and I will and direct that my son John Herrit shall during the lifetime of my wife Elizabeth or Betsey Herrit furnish and provide for her a comfortable maintenance in food, clothing, lodging attendance and all necessaries which may be required by her suitable to her degree and station in life and as heretofore enjoyed by her,
all which several legacies and maintenance for my wife I direct shall form a charge upon all my lands and Real Estate herein devised to my son John, which lands, shall be held bound and subject to the payment of said legacies respectively, and for the furnishing and security of the said maintenance to my said wife in case she survives me.
I name and appoint my son John Herrit and my neighbor Alexander Grant and constitute them as Executors of this my last Will and Testament to which I have signed my name and set my Seal this eighteenth day of March A.D. 1885.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John Herritt, Senior, late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this first day of October A.D. 1895.
