Estate of William Harris, late of Pictou, Printer ie., deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I William Harris of Pictou in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Printer and Publisher, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament.

First, I will and bequeath to my beloved Sister Sarah Ann Harris at present of Pawtucket, R.I. the sum of Fifty Dollars and to my beloved niece Alice Arnold Harris at present of Oberyville, R.I. the sum of twenty dollars said two legacies to be paid out of my personal Estate within one year after my decease.

Second,  I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Jane Harris the sum of Four Hundred Dollars out of my personal estate.

Third, I will and bequeath to my said beloved wife for her use and the use of my children during her natural life should she remain unmarried  all the residue of my personal estate whatsoever and also all my real Estate wheresoever Situate, the same at her decease to go to and be equally divided among my children her surviving, but in the event of her marrying again then I will and direct  that my said Real Estate and whatever personal property may remain be equally divided among my children when they shall have attained to the age of twenty one years.

Fourth,  I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Margaret Jane Harris the Sole Executrix of this my  last will and Testament and the Guardian of my children during their minority.

In witness whereof I have hereto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set this twenty first day of November A.D. 1883.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William Harris, late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Printer and Publisher, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand ( words and the Seal of the said have been scratched out) At Pictou, this 17th day of January A.D. 1885.
