Description Various gravestones at Lourdes Cemetery

The gravestones are located in the Lourdes (Our Lady of Lourdes) Cemetery (PL 06 in the Ritchie Cemetery Listings). 

 

Rev. Dr. P.J. Connolly's gravestone (in front on the far left) reads:

"REV. DR. P.J. CONNOLLY

Born at Stellarton, N.S. March 6, 1883

Ordained at Antigonish June 29, 1907

Died at Washington D.C. April 4, 1954

[x]"

 

 

Rev. Cyril E. Miller D.D.'s gravestone (front middle, brown) reads:

"Pray for the soul of 

The Reverene CYRIL E. MILLER D.D.

Born at New Waterford

December 20th, 1908

Ordained at Antigonish May 21, 1932

Pastor of Lourdes 1940 - 1945

Died at Lourdes November 2, 1945"

 

The gravestone of Rev. William B. MacDonald (front, far right) reads:

"Pray for Rev. Father

WILLIAM B. MacDONALD

Born April 15, 1849

Died July 24, 1918

Born at West Merigomish 1849

Ordained Priest at Quebec 1876

First Pastor of Lourdes 1876

Where he laboured until he died, may his soul rest in peace."

 

 

The gravestone for Margaret E. MacGowan and husband Mathew Mahoney (in the back, reddish brown) reads:

"MARGARET E. MacGOWAN

wife of Mathew Mahoney

1856 - 1914
